In order to help spur economic growth in Iron County, the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce has launched their HIRE 1 MORE initiative. The focus of this initiative is to encourage businesses in our community to look for ways they can create one more full time job. If every employer with ten or more employees could find a way to hire just one more person, the economic impact in our community would be tremendous. We invite all Iron County businesses to participate in this initiative and help put our economy back on track.
There are a number of programs available to help those who participate in the HIRE 1 MORE initiative.
Back To Work Program (BTW)
- Wage subsidy of up to $2,000 per eligible participant
- Program targets unemployment insurance claimants
On-The-Job-Training (OJT)
- Offers reimbursement to employers
- Up to 50% of wages reimbursed during training
- DWS will screen applicants for you
Federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit
- Tax credit for hiring individuals in targeted groups
