Chairwoman – Suzie Rowley


Suzie Rowley joined the SUU athletics department in 2006. Since that day she has enjoyed her involvement with the athletics foundation, as the Thunderbird Club Coordinator and now with marketing as the Senior Account Representative of Thunderbird Sports Properties. Rowley has attended Southern Utah University studying communication. 

She and her husband Adam have lived in Cedar City for 21 years and have five children: Travis, Taylor, Jacob, Nathan and Kevin. 


 
Past Chairman – Derek Morton 
Since moving to Cedar City just over 4 years ago, Derek has been active in the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce. He has played an integral role in the redesign of the Chamber's logo, and the Business EXPO. He's also been an active member of the Chamber's Ambassadors group, which works to increase the membership of the Chamber. His focus during his term as Chairman has been how to help increase the Prestige, Power, and Trust of the local businesses through involvement in the Chamber.

 Public Policy / Media Relations – Chris McCormick


Chris McCormick has a passion for serving in the community and truly believes Cedar City has a very promising future. The people, culture, and diversity of our community is tremendous and strong knit which says a lot about who we are and what we represent. For most of his adult life, Chris has been involved in civic organizations as a way to give back. Building businesses and helping others to do the same is something Chris thrives on. Not every one of his business ventures has been a financial success, but he has learned and grown from each experience. Business development and marketing are two areas that motivate Chris as they both offer a creative outlet. Being apart of the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce has been one of Chris' greatest experiences as he genuinely believes in the people and potential of this community. Chris was the President of the Chamber in 2010.

Steve grew up in Annabella, UT (Sevier County) and is a graduate of South Sevier High School.  He moved to Cedar City the day after he graduated in 1988 and attended college at SUSC for two years.  
Soon after that he had experience as a dental technician, the fuel industry working for Jenkins Oil Co. for many years and also a heavy equipment operator for CMSI.  Steve is currently working for Rainbow Sign & Design as the sales manager in Cedar City. 
Hobbies include hunting, golfing and archery, but his true passion is bass fishing.  He has been a tournament fisherman for seventeen years and fished as a pro for the last five years.
Steve has been married to Sarah (Smith) Miller, for the last eleven years.  They have two boys, David age 19 attending Southern Utah University and Ty age 17 attending Cedar High School.
He truly loves being involved in the community and working with people.  He is honored to have the opportunity to be part of Cedar City Chamber of Commerce.

 Economic Development – Brennan Wood

Brennan M. Wood currently serves as the Economic Development Director of the Cedar City – Iron County Office of Economic Development. In
 his role as Director, Mr. Wood is responsible for communication and coordination of local, county and area leaders, recruits businesses, improves employment opportunities through retention and expansion of existing businesses, and helps to maintain and improve area infrastructure to accommodate economic growth. 


Prior to this Mr. Wood was a Vice President and Br
anch Manager for Barnes Banking Company where he oversaw branch operations, developed consumer and business relationships and maintained lending activities with a specialty in construction and development lending. He has also been a Regional Marketing Manager for Galyan’s Sports and Outdoor Adventure and was responsible for marketing strategies in Utah and Nevada. 

A graduate of Indiana University – Purdue University at Indianapolis, Mr. Wood graduated with a Marketing Degree from the IU Kelley School of Business. Mr. Wood and his wife, Sandi, reside in Cedar City and have four children.

Jeff Burgess was born in Cedar City Utah November 3, 1978. Son of Joe and Beverly Burgess. Graduated from Cedar High School in 1997. After serving a mission in Brazil from 1997-1999 he attended Southern Utah University where he graduated with a degree in Finance. Jeff married Melina Squires of Ogden Utah in 2003 they have 3 boys (Jaxon 6, Jake 4, Hunter 2) and are expecting boy number 4 in January. Jeff is a partner at Safari Property Management, the company owns and operates limited service hotels in Utah and Nevada. In his free time Jeff enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

I have worked for the Crystal Inn Hotel & Suites, Cedar City since 2008. I left my advertising background to broaden my experience in hotel sales and am committed to helping bring more tourists and events to the Cedar City area. In my role as Sales Manager I am responsible for group sales, conventions and corporate business.

Prior to joining the Crystal Inn Hotel & Suites, I moved to Cedar City to help open the office for Cherry Creek Radio, Cedar City. Marketing, advertising, sales and public relations is my expertise. Prior to moving to Cedar City in 2006, I worked as National/ Regional Sales Manager for Lazer Broadcasting one of the top Spanish language radio stations in the Inland Empire, in Southern California.

I sit on various boards including: Iron County Tourism Advisory Board, Safety Solutions Coalition, Frontier Homestead State Park Museum and, I am member of the Cedar City Rotary Club.


 Southern Utah University – Dean O’Driscoll

I am currently serving as Vice President for University Relations, Southern Utah University.  I have been with SUU for 11 years. I spent a decade as Public Relations Director at Snow College.  I also took over as development director and chair of Commencement.

Previously, I spent eight years working in radio and television - doing play-by-play sports announcing, sports producer at KGUN-TV, and news producer, writer and anchor at KNST radio in Tucson. 

I graduated as the top student in the master's in professional communication program from SUU and was a magna cum laude graduate with a BA in Communications from SUSC.  As a basketball player at SUSC I was named player of the year two years, male athlete of the year, conference scholar athlete of the year and academic all-america.

I have two children; Kenyon and Abigale and I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, bungi jumping and lots of traveling.

  
 Tourism Bureau – Maria Twitchell
Maria was born and raised in Cedar City, Utah and attended Southern Utah University where she graduated with a B.S. degree in Communications.  Following graduation Maria accepted a position with Iron County and served in various marketing positions for the county tourism office.   She was promoted to Executive Director of the Cedar City –Brian Head Tourism Bureau & Iron County Visitor Center in 1995.  Maria loves her job and serves on many  local and state boards, including the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce, Iron Mission Foundation, Utah Summer Games Board of Commissioners, Brian Head Chamber of Commerce, Cedar City Downtown Retail Alliance, Iron County Restaurant Tax Board, Utah Tourism Industry Coalition, Friends of Utah State Parks.  Maria combines her love of hiking, skiing, river rafting, canyoneering, food, travel and photography with her career and is often quoted as saying “Living the Life”!  Maria is married to Jimmy Twitchell and they have a 19 year old daughter.
